Postdoc/Studentship/Research Assistant Position in Computational/Theoretical Neuroscience
You should be very skilled and experienced in analytical methods such as linear algebra,
statistical methods, and differential equations. You should be interested in reading and
working with experimental data and good at communicating and/or collaborating with experimental
colleagues. Salary depends on your experience.
Postdocs with own fellowships/training grants
We are happy to consider hosting postdocs for some fellowship programs, including Walter Benjamin Programme , Humboldt Research Fellowship , Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions ,
and HFSP Cross disciplinary fellowships (this is useful for postdocs who like to transition from a physical
science background (e.g., from physics, math, computer science,
engineering).
Ph.D. students with own scholarship, e.g., China Scholarship Council (CSC) Scholarship
We are happy to consider admitting students with their
scholarships, such as students
with the CSC scholarship (please apply directly with CSC with our lab
as your host, and not through the University of Tuebingen program,
contact us if you need more information).
Other informations for students interested in Ph.D. training
A master's degree is required before a person can be offered a Ph.D. position. You can also
apply to a master's study or a joint master-Ph.D. study at the Graduate Training Center of neuroscience at our university, where we teach and train master students (and you can do projects and thesis in our labs).
Suggestions for position enquiries
When you get in contact, you should describe your background, include a CV and other
helpful information about yourself. To demonstrate your interests and suitability in
our works, you need to use concrete statements rather than unspecific (and unhelpful)
statements such as "I am very interested in your research". Hence, it is best that you
first read some of our papers/book to see whether our research topics and styles are of
interests to your skill sets and your training needs, and then describe in concrete terms
to demonstrate your knowledge of, and your suitability for, what we do, and why you are interested.
It is also helpful to describe the kinds of projects that you would like to do and how/why they relate
to our research program.
We give priority to applicants who have taken our
online courses at
zhaoping.thinkific.com In your email or
application, please indicate
that you have taken
these courses and are ready to be evaluated on your
knowledge of the
course content.
We look forward to receiving your online application by E-Mail in PDF format
(in one file) to: jobs.li@tuebingen.mpg.de, where also informal inquiries can be addressed.
